John Deere 30 series – head gasket issues
After an accident yesterday when an 8 “bolt and shear spring from an old cultivator moved and flew through my open rear window hitting me on the head as it ripped past the headliner – I was talking to J Deere main agent to get price for now destroyed roof lining replacement! During conversation with dealer they told me there are updates for their model and upon inquiry I was told these tractors have head gasket problems! (at least I still had my head and a big whacking bruise Does anyone have any information please as quite peed off that the cost to replace when they go is around 5500-00 euros plus VAT so I feel is a latent defect .I seem to remember some discussion in BFF regarding EGR valve problems and several good reasons to remove it and have engine remapped but I cannot find in m i search on bff. The lead agent suggests that I go out and test the tractor’s pressure and power bank, but at present it seems to me that it is working fine and is not losing any coolant of that I am 110% sure.
Any advice, please, is welcome. Just keep it full of water and keep it serviced, I’ve heard some head gaskets have broken but I’m not going to lose sleep over it, we have a 07 7530 and if it goes, it goes. I know we will have good support and that means a lot to me. As for the elimination of the EGR as someone said before that Dr. Derv seems to be doing a lot at the national level.
